Self portrait and sunrise was made after I wrote the article on the Film Time: from sunset to sunrise

The self portrait was made on 9/04/2021 , a few days after seeing the film

the insert of a picture of myself when I was taking a film making course at Edinburgh College of Art in 1980 is particularly meaningful ( I was wearing a bracelet ( now lost ) given to me by fourth brother and Chen Chen before leaving Hong Kong for good )

Now that I am back forty some years later and met fourth brother at the Press meeting, it is as if going back in time

Thank God for the memory

還記得那天

四哥跟楂手仔

在玫瑰新邨他們家

我榮幸收到他們給我的禮物

四哥說

是他跟楂手仔在夏威夷買的

我接過後便離開了香港

在蘇格蘭愛丁堡藝術學院讀電影課程時也戴著它

簡直把它當護身符

但是

不知如何的

鎖在保險箱裏也不翼而飛

四十多年後

重回香江

竟然再遇四哥

如夢又如唏噓般的

我回家後

便繪畫了這自畫像

及四哥那天给我的印象

如Monet 的sunrise

心境充滿希望

以為自己忽然年青了
